Bluebell Woods in Watercolour with Yvette Wiltshire

Today we have had a fantastic workshop painting bluebell woods in watercolour.  We started the day by taking a short trip down the lane to Cutkieve Woods to experience the bluebells first hand.  The sun was shining and the bluebells were definitely at their best.

We then returned to the Craft Centre for a well earned cup of tea and a chat about the pictures we had taken, paying attention to the light shining through the trees and the shadows.  The learners where then given the same picture to paint under the careful guidance of tutor Yvette Wiltshire.

The day progressed very well with some excellent pictures produced, I think the trip at the start of the day was really inspirational to everyone.  Well done!

Kathryn – Following the Willow Plant Support workshop

” I was delighted to receive a gift voucher for this workshop as a birthday present as I live in Somerset near the Levels where willow is grown commercially.  At the end of the day all the participants went away terribly pleased having made at least two plant supports in traditional pyramid style.  Friendly and encouraging instruction, comfortable and informal surroundings all contributed to a day of enjoyable achievement.”

Willow Plant Supports with Bridget King

We recently had a full house of ladies making Willow Plant Supports.  A variety of shapes and sizes were made, with everyone taking home at least two.

One of the ladies travelled down from Yeovil for the workshop as she had been given the day as a birthday present from her family. She successfully managed to transport two plant supports back up to Somerset.

I have since added an everlasting sweet pea plant to my creation.  I cant wait for it to grow a bit more and start flowering.    DSCF3980 (Small)

Shaggy Rag Rugging with Sara Rose

We recently hosted our second Shaggy Rag Rug workshop with Sara Rose.  It was attended by complete beginners and some people returned to complete their projects that they started on the first workshop back in October 2013.
