Description: Painting from life or reference images – learn how to capture light, represent atmosphere with colours and create expressive compositions.
Suitable for beginners and improvers, this class will enable you to develop your own painting style. You will be taught in a group with demonstrations as well as working individually with 1:1 guidance. You will be provided with some images for inspiration but you are encouraged to provide your own photos to paint from. It can be an instructive skill to imitate another artists painting but the sessions aim to allow you to develop your own painting style.
During the sessions, you will be exploring techniques in Watercolour from the basics of colour mixing, learning how to leave paper white, how to blend variegated washes with controlled wet-in-wet and achieve fresh glazes, to the more advanced methods of creating special textural effects.
You will be using your images (sketches / photographs) as inspiration to create fresh and vibrant paintings with rich tonal value and confident mark making!
Students are required to provide their own equipment. A full list of art materials will be provided during the first session.
