Description: Painting from life or reference images – learn how to produce creative & vibrant compositions.
Suitable for students who have dabbled with Painting and wish to improve their Watercolour Painting techniques.
Students are encouraged to work independently with 1:1 tuition in addition to working with the group following painting demonstrations by the tutor.
You will be provided with some images for inspiration but you are encouraged to provide your own. In addition to using sketches & photographs we will be painting from life (flowers & plants) in the studio. The intention of this class is to enable you to develop your own painting style, choice of subject matter and skills to compose & create your paintings.
During our weekly sessions we will be developing our range of techniques used in Watercolour. Continuing with colour mixing, preserving the white of the paper, blending and controlling wet-in-wet, keeping our glazes fresh and practising more advanced methods of creating special textural effects with mediums and mixed media.
Be inspired to create lively paintings with strong tonal value and confident brush work!
Students are required to provide their own equipment. A full list of art materials will be provided during the first session.
