Description: This workshop is to make a textile picture (approximately A3 size) using a mixture of appliqué, quilting and free motion embroidery. The picture will be based on one of Penny’s designs or else you can bring your own picture to interpret.
Some experience of free motion embroidery would be necessary to do this workshop however if you are new to the topic, you are welcome to attend the workshop and complete one of Penny’s original designs which are suitable for beginners. Choose from Chicken in Clogs, Cockerel in Clogs, Indian Runner Duck or Pig in Clover
- Sewing machine in good working order and operating manual (the feed dogs will need to be lowered or covered with a plate depending on make and model of machine)
- Darning foot for your machine
- Sewing kit to include pins, needles, thread, fabric scissors, paper scissors etc
- Notebook and pen
- Your own picture (printed to the size you wish the finished item to be) if you wish to create your own design
Penny’s kits will be available to buy on the day at a special price of £10 which includes all you need to make the picture i.e. backing fabric, wadding, front linen mix fabric, variegated sewing thread, bondaweb, templates and instructions.
Alternatively, If you would prefer to bring your own fabrics, thread and bondaweb the templates will be provided free of charge.
